“On June 26, 2014 Nate was diagnosed with B-cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, he was 3 years old. Since then, Nate has been under the care of Dr. Sarah Tasian and the CHOP Pediatic Oncology group. During these 3+ years of treatment, we have experienced a myriad of emotional ups and downs, but one constant through this has been the excellence we have experienced at CHOP. We feel extremely grateful knowing that Nate is receiving the very best care available at Children’s Hospital.
Although cancer is the no. 1 disease killer of children in the U.S., there is minimal funding that goes towards pediatric cancer research and trials. Events like the Parkway Run are vital for spreading awareness and raising money for research. The strides that have been made in treating pediatric cancers in the past few decades are remarkable. Our hope is that families will continue to benefit from CHOP’s care and services in the future. We need to keep the momentum going to find a cure!
