Deluxe San Francisco is looking for an organized, detail-oriented, ambitious person to join our hardgoods development team and contribute to the department's overall organization, function, and creativity.
Let's get this out of the way from the start
Knowledge of skateboarding, skateboard components, and a desire to make great skateboarding stuff is a must - the ability to get out and test what you work on is a plus.
This position is an entry-level position, on-site at the DLXSF offices, working closely with but reporting to all department senior members. It's an opportunity for someone who can listen, learn, and follow through to advance rapidly and learn not only a niche trade but general product development skills that can transfer to many different products and industries.
All candidates must be comfortable using Microsoft Office with at least a basic working knowledge of Word and Excel and Adobe Acrobat, iCal, Zoom, and Google Calendar. If you don't have them already, you will be expected to develop skills in Adobe Illustrator, Adobe photoshop, and navigating Google Drive. Candidates with the skills mentioned above will be considered first.
The job would include but not limited to:
Final preparation of spec sheets for production handoff.
Setup, confirm, contribute to, and summarize meetings as needed.
Quality Control tests and reporting for product deliveries - wheels trucks decks and asst projects.
Assist, record, and follow through on testing of new product developments - wheels, trucks decks, and asst projects.
Work with all other Deluxe personnel and departments professionally to meet Deluxe's goals and objectives.
Correspond with current domestic and overseas vendors individually and on behalf of senior developers as needed. Help research and locate possible new vendors when required.
Coordinate with the customer service department on warranty questions.
Review and understand decks' details to include Shape / Size / Mold / Layup / Inserts / Additional info or special instructions if needed.
Review and understand trucks' details to include Category / Size / Baseplate / Hanger / Bushings / Hardware / Inserts / Additional info or special instructions if needed.
Review and understand wheels' details to include Urethane Formula / Durometer / Sizes / Shapes / Colors / Inserts / Additional info or special instructions if needed.
Contribute ideas and concepts for new products and improvements on existing products.
