Bell Foundry DIYBaltimore, MD

Gary Smith (Owner) & the Vu Skateshop crew from Maryland were able to raise $1,000 with #THEBUILDPROJECT bucket in their shop. When they finished the fundraising, the choice of where to build their spot seemed obvious - ‘The Bell Foundry’ was an existing DIY spot that already had a few features to skate built there, and also doubles as a collective for local artists to live. They wanted to build somewhere that wouldn’t get torn down and this seemed like the perfect choice. They spent all the money they raised building a rad spot for Baltimore locals to skate without having to worry about the spot being a bust or getting torn out - although the summer heat did play a factor in their build. Gary and the crew are proud to report that the spot is still going strong to this day and they are still raising money, with plans to expand their build in the Spring.
