Long rough day today. We got up around 11. Made some calls, Larry Perkins gave us the scoop on where to eat breakfast, Courtney's, good spot. Thanks LP. We then headed out for some spots, but we were kicked out of everywhere without even having our boards out. We stopped in at Vertical Urge, Todd let us get some gear and our box of socks came in. Again, we searched for something to skate, but got shut down. Even our tool hunting mission got shut down at the Home Depot. So we took it back to Vertical Urge for the demo. The guys were ripping. Peter, who rolled his ankle in Atlanta decided he'd try to skate with an ankle brace on, straight up killed the park. HUF was going ballistic, popping alley oop 180's over the pyramid hip about chest high. Classic skating. It was kind of home coming for Justin Brock, he grew up skating Vertical Urge and rides for them. He's pretty much the King of the South, even though he'd never say that. Everything was amazing. Then I turn around, Justin is laying on the ground and his foot is sideways. He dislocated and broke his ankle. We call an ambulance and his mother. We follow the ambulance to Wake Med and wait. 3 hours later, we've got his family and Justin with a temporary cast on. Dinner at Mellow Mushroom. So Justin needS surgery in a few days, he'll get plate and some pins, but his spirits are high. I've never seen anyone take it so calm and easy as J Brock. Sorry to cut the demo short, Todd, but thanks for all your help. Justin, heal quick, play some Guitar Hero and we'll see you rolling in no time.
